The rout ends Jagla’s Olympics as the Germans fail to qualify for the medal round. Jagla was 4-10 (2-6) for ten points.

Jagla and the Germans lost to Yao Ming and the Chinese team in a game that basically determined who the fourth team would be to advance out of pool play.

The Greeks give notice that they’ll be a force to be dealt with as they destroy the Germans 87-64. Greece just shutdown the German stars holding Dirk Nowitski to 14 points and Chris Kaman to just 4. Jagla was also a non-factor he went 2-10 (0-3) for only 4 points.

Germany beat Puerto Rico 96-82 on Sunday in the last game of the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament to claim the final place on offer for the Beijing Games.

More than 350 golfers teed it up on the Penn State golf courses in one of the biggest charity events in the area. The annual Coaches vs Cancer tournament hosted by the PSU basketball team and coach ED Dechellis raised enough money to top the $1M total for the 13 years of its existance.
