JoePa’s induction ceremony had to be delayed for a year due to an on field injury suffered during the Wisconsin football game but it finally came to pass on Saturday night. Joe joins three other active coaches in the Hall.

Joe’s achievements are too numerous to list but a short version would have to include two national titles in ’82 and ’86, five undefeated seasons and the American Football Coaches coach of the year a record five times.

Phil Steele names defensive end Maurice Evans a second team All-American while bestowing third team honors on A.J. Wallace.

Dan Connor goes to Carolina in the third round while Justin King is grabbed by St Louis Rams in the second.

Connor’s win means a Penn State linebacker has won the award for three consecutive years. Paul Pozluszny have taken home the hardware in 2005 and 2006. Lavar Arrington was a previous winner in 1999.

The award recognizes former student-athletes who completed successful collegiate careers in various sports and have excelled in their chosen professions and is presented on the 25th anniversary of their graduation.
