2001 PSU Alum Toyin Augustus will race in Beijing representing Nigeria in the 100m hurdles. Toyin was the 2006 All African hurdle champ and the 2008 runner up. Toyin was born in Nigeria and although she move to the US as a child she maintains Nigerian citizenship.

Former PSU track great Chi Chi Adubu took home first place in the first annual Live with Regis and Kelly High Heel-a-thon sponsored by Dr Scholls. In addition to a huge high heel trophy, Chi Chi also took home a nice $25,000 check.

Penn State Alum Shakeema Welsh (nee Walker) thought earned a spot on the Beijing Olympic team with a silver medal performance in the triple jump in Eugene Oregon but it turned out to be all for naught.

Aleesha Barber will run the 100 meter hurdles for Trinidad and Tobago in the Olympic Games. Aleesha will be the second PSU women ever to run in the Olympics.
